Our Parish Logo
Our Parish Logo depicts two swans, which are symbols of Albert Park. They also represent the two Parishes of St Silas, Albert Park and the former St Anselm, Middle Park.
The two parishes are now together under one roof, which is depicted as a stylised palm tree - another striking image of our area, found both around the lake and along the seashore. Its fronds suggest an open Bible.
The palm tree has within it a gothic Church-like window, reminding us of both the nurturing role of our local Parish and the windows to God that the Church provides in this place.
The cross above all this reveals our loyalty to Jesus, who is the head of the body and the One who holds us all in unity.
The blue and green lines below the swans and tree represent water and parkland. As a locality in Melbourne, we are defined by the beauty of Albert Park Lake, Port Phillip Bay, and the parks and gardens abutting these and other places in our corner of the inner south of the city.
All the symbols together form a triangle, the great and classic symbol of the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Our logo speaks about our faith, our Parish and our locality.
